The Storms of Life!
Speaker: Marvel DeWitt

Storms can take many forms: job loss, home foreclosure, a distressing diagnosis, divorce or loss of a husband or a child. What "life-jackets" do we put on and cling to when the storms of life "capsize our boat"? What do we do with the holes in our heart that the storms leave in their "wake"? During times of despair we must trust in what we know to be true.

In 1997 Marvel's only son, Kurt, age 26, was killed by a drunk driver. Two months later her nephew, Chuck, died suddenly from a heart attack at 29. Two incredible storms occurring without any warning! How does anyone survive something like this? Come learn about the hope that God offers through the unplanned storms we face. Marvel, wife, mother, grandmother, and retired Kindergarten teacher formally from Lockport, N.Y., now resides in Dallas, Texas.

How You Manage Your Money.
Speaker: Debbie Markham

Do you know how to set up a budget? Have you ever set financial goals for yourself or your family? Will you need to borrow money? Do you have credit card debt? Do you understand the credit card market? What is identity theft and how can I protect myself against it? These questions do have answers.

Debbie Markham, a Christian Financial Specialist, is committed to helping her community make wise banking decisions. A woman who teaches the Word of God and applies its principles to daily life, Debbie, a wife, mother of 2 grown children and Vice President of First State Bank of Arcadia, comes to us today with years of financial expertise.

How We Train Our Kids.

Shirley McCarty - pastors' wife, mother of 6, pharmacist and home-schooler, will moderate a panel of experts to answer your questions. From that first midnight cry of a newborn babe to the empty-nest syndrome, much happens in the life of 'dear ol' mom'. How will I ever cope? Join this panel of women who have waded thru diapers, burned the midnight oil waiting for their teens, rejoiced in those college years only to find the kids are back again, maybe with children of their own! Bring your questions, notebook and Bible.

The Road to Recovery.
Speaker: Robin Curry

Do you have hurts, hang-ups or habits?

A hurt is an emotional reaction to another persons' behavior or disturbing situation. For example: abuse, abandonment, codependency or divorce.

Hang-ups are negative mental attitudes that we use to cope with people or adversity. For example: anger, depression or fear.

A habit is an addiction to someone or something. For example: gambling, sex, shopping, smoking etc. These hinder your walk with God!

Robin has experienced the pain of divorce, hurts, hang-ups and habits. She is an administrator of the "Celebrate Recovery" program at the Alliance Church in Port Charlotte, Robin will share steps to begin the journey of celebrating Gods' healing power in our lives as we work toward recovery.

Sharon, a pastors wife, mother, registered nurse and a certified trainer for over 25 years using Precept Ministries 'Inductive Study Series', will introduce you to a practical approach to in-depth study and application of God's Words for today's Christian woman. This approach will open new channels to greater knowledge and trust in God. Bring a bible and notepad for this class.

He Gives Us a New Song.
Speaker: Dr. Nell Maxwell

Psalm 40:1 says, I waited patiently for the Lord and He heard my cry. How can I be patient when I'm in the pit of despair? I've lost my spouse and I'm alone. No one cares about me. I'm worthless! I can no longer physically cope. I can't hold on much longer, I want to die!

Nell Maxwell, founder and past president of Women Alive Canada, has organized hundreds of conferences for women across Canada for over 30 years. Confined to a wheelchair due to a horrific car accident, Nell's ministry had to be put on hold during a long, painful, and discouraging rehab that took her to the brink of despair. But God promises to bring us a new song even when circumstances overwhelm us. Nell, wife, mother, and grandmother, is also an author, national speaker and a survivor. Bring your pad and pencils for her survival tips.
